ABOUT BURFORD LIT FEST

Sat in my kitchen on a wet and dreary Thursday morning in January 2020,  fuelled by several cups of black coffee,  the last Quality Street and an overwhelming desire to bring the community of book lovers and authors together in a way that was accessible for all, a tiny spark became a flaming fire and by lunchtime, The Burford Literary Festival was created.

The sun shone, the authors chatted with our audiences and all was so perfectly splendid that 2023 will see our third festival.
